Overview
Flash Connect now supports PayID for collections. If your business collects payments from customers in Australia, we can set you up so your customers pay you by an easy-to-remember alias (a PayID) instead of a BSB and account number.
This is available today for institutional clients with an approved email domain verified by the Flash team. Self-serve PayID registration inside Flash Connect itself is in development and will follow.
How it works
You provide us with the list of your domains, we approve and whitelist them after internal verification.
You can then register multiple PayIDs for your customers under those domains to cover your approved use cases with Flash. For instance, you can create an alias like john_doe@yourcompany.com.au for all your sub-clients, or you may have PayIDs per invoice such as invoice_123232@invoices.yourcompany.com.au.
Senders pay using the PayID. Before sending, they see the customers’ account name you registered with Flash, never the BSB or account number.
The payment arrives as a regular deposit, and the associated PayID is documented on the transaction record.
Where you'll see it in Flash Connect
Sub-client page — lists every PayID registered for that sub-client, with its status.
Deposit record — shows the PayID a payment was addressed to, alongside the usual deposit details.
Getting started
Contact your Flash account manager and confirm the email domain you want to use for PayID collections.
Once the domain is approved, your development team assigns PayIDs to sub-clients through the Flash API.

FAQ
Can my customers use their personal email or mobile number as a PayID? Not currently — only email addresses on a domain your business controls are supported.
Does this change how deposits are processed? No. A PayID payment arrives as a standard deposit; the PayID is just shown as how the sender addressed it.
Is there a limit on how many PayIDs I can register? If you have a specific use case requiring the creation of multiple PayIDs, please speak to our team so we can determine a suitable solution.
Can I create a one-off PayID without creating a sub-client?
No. PayIDs are always assigned to a sub-client. If that doesn’t fit how you work, talk to your account manager, we’re happy to hear about different use cases.
