New feature: Universal Search in Flash Connect

Written by Support

We’ve added a new Universal Search bar to the top of Flash Connect, making it faster and easier to find the information you need.

Search across your records in Flash Connect

Universal Search lets you find entities in Flash Connect from a single search bar using free-text search.

You can search for a wide range of records, including withdrawals, deposits, payments, senders, recipients, institutions, mandates, and requests for information. Just enter what you know, and Flash Connect will return the relevant matches.

Search results are limited to the records you’re authorised to view.

Note: Search results may not be exhaustive and should not be used for sanctions or customer screening.

Search by ID, reference or name

Universal Search gives you the flexibility to search using whatever information you have to hand.

You can search using:

  • Flash internal IDs: Search by any internal Flash ID, such as a Withdrawal ID or Payment ID.

  • External references and IDs: Search using external references or IDs associated with a record.

  • Individual names: Search for individual senders and recipients using their first, middle or last name. Names can be entered in any order, and you can provide as many or as few name terms as you know.

  • Company names: Search for company senders and recipients using their company name. Terms can be entered in any order, with no restriction on how many terms you provide.

  • Institution names: Search for institutions using either their legal name or trading-as name. Terms can be entered in any order, with no restriction on how many terms you provide.

Names can be entered in any order, so “Smith Jane” will return the same results as “Jane Smith”. Partial names work too, making it easier to find someone even when you only remember part of their name.

This means you can search with the information you have, without needing to know the exact format or full details of the record.

Tip: The more specific your search, the more refined your results will be. For example, searching for a common last name will return all senders matching that name, while searching by both first and last name will narrow down the results and help you find the exact person you’re looking for.

How to use it

Look for the search box at the top of any page in Flash Connect. Enter a name, reference or ID, press Enter, and you’re there.

If your search returns a single match, Flash Connect takes you directly to that record, saving you an extra click.

If there are multiple matches, you’ll see a clear, grouped list so you can quickly choose the one you need.
