Google Chrome - Google Password Manager

Setup

  • To register a new passkey, first sign in to your profile. Then, navigate to Security > Login options in the main menu on the left-hand side. On the "Login options" page, locate the green "REGISTER A NEW PASSKEY" button and press it.

  • After you click the "REGISTER A NEW PASSKEY" button, a "Windows Security" modal window will appear, suggesting you use your authentication device, for example, your fingerprint reader. Press the cancel button.

  • Next, a new modal window will appear in your browser, asking where you'd like to save your Passkey: either in "Google Password Manager" or Windows Hello. Please select "Google Password Manager," which should be listed with your email address below it.

  • The next modal window will prompt you to create a Passkey.

  • And immediately after that, the "Windows Security" modal will appear, asking you to place your finger on the fingerprint scanner to scan it.

  • Provide a custom alias for your device (Optional)

  • Done! You've successfully saved your Passkey in “Google Password Manager”. 🎉

  • When you reach the login page, you'll see a button with the caption "SIGN IN WITH A PASSKEY."

  • By pressing "SIGN IN WITH A PASSKEY," Google Password Manager will prompt you to sign in using the Passkey saved in Google Password Manager.

  • After clicking the Passkey associated with your email and the subtitle "Google Password Manager," the "Windows Security" modal window will appear, prompting you to scan your fingerprint.

  • Success! You're now signed in with the Passkey stored in “Google Password Manager”. 🎉
