What is Passkey?

A Passkey is a FIDO(Fast IDentity Online) authentication standard that enables users to log into applications and websites similarly to how they unlock their devices using biometrics, a PIN, or a pattern. Passkeys are associated with a user’s account on a website or application, removing the need to input usernames, passwords, and time-synchronized OTPs (one-time passwords).

Why Passkey?

Advantages of Passkey:

  • Security: Passkey significantly increases security levels by minimising the risk of phishing and password theft.

  • Convenience: Users no longer need to remember or enter passwords, making the login process simpler.

  • Speed: Authentication using Passkey is faster than traditional methods.

  • Compliance: The feature assists in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements for data protection and user authentication.

How do I use Passkey?

Easy transition process:

Step 1: Go to the Security settings page->Login Options in Flash Connect.

Step 2: Click the "Register Passkey" button.

Step 3: Follow the instructions to set up Passkey on your device.
