International bank transfer fees
An international bank transfer fee is an upfront, flat fee that can range between 5 and 30 AUD per transaction. It is levied by banks and most money transfer providers on customers transferring money overseas. The fee is meant to cover costs of payment processing, foreign exchange, and other charges.
The international bank transfer fee is on top of the FX margin, which is the spread (or difference) that banks charge on top of the real exchange rate. You can learn more about the real exchange rate here.
Flash Payments customers don't pay international bank transfer fees. Our customers enjoy a $0 fee policy when they choose to send money with us.
